Tongban PAN Fiber is also be called acrylic fiber,it is a new kind of synthetic reinforcement fiber made of PAN resins by special technique. It can be used for concrete and mortar admixtures, strengthen anti-crack performance of the cement and asphalt concrete.
Its function in the cement concrete is similar to TB-PP-Fiber and in the asphalt concrete is similar to TB-PES-Fiber.

Mechanism Action of Acrylic Fiber in the MASTIC
- The function of absorption
The diameter of the fiber is general 15µm, and the specific surface is very large — the surface area per gram could reach to several square meters.
The fibers distribute in asphaltum, then their huge surface area becomes the soakage interface.
In the interface layer, the physical and chemical actions between the asphaltum and fibers make the asphaltum distribute on the surface in unimolecule, further form the firm asphaltum interface layer. At the same time, because both the fibers and the surrounding asphaltum attached the surface of the aggregate, the asphalt membrane is enlarged, makes for slowing down the ageing rate, further prolong the lifetime of the roads.
- The function of stability
The asphaltum attached by the crossbinding fibers increased the proportion of the structural asphaltum, decreased the free asphaltum, enforced the treacliness of MASTIC, improved the softening point, thereby improved the stability of SMA bulking material.
- The function of reinforcement
The fibers distribute in the MASTIC in 3D and stochastic, which could prevent the crack of bulking material, consequently increase the crack healing power of asphalt roads and decrease the crack.
