New steel structure workshop building to Russia
The type of steel structure building:Heavy duty steel structure
The general building area is about 68 thousand square meters
The layout plan is divided into Area A.B.C.D.which all are single-storey steel structure workshop building.
The axis area in Area A is 13.2 thousand square meters,double span,its span is 59 meters,30mt capacity overhead crane,its eave height is 25 meters;
The axis area in Area B is 24.31 thousand square meters,continuous five-spans,the maximum capacity for overhead is 300mt,the highest point of eave height is 42.00 meters
The axis area in Area C is 20.58 thousand square meters,continuous four-spans,the maximum capacity for overhead is 65mt plus 65mt,the highest point of eave height is 41.50 meters
The Span in Area D is double span,its span is 59 meters,30mt capacity overhead crane,its eave height is 19.5 meters;
Area A,D and B,C is perpendicular each other,all the supporting structures above ±0.00 are all steel structures.
Steel Columns are built-up columns,crane girders are welded I beam and braked truss,and install walk safe path.
The roofing and wall cladding system is light style with corrugated steel plate.
It is one typical big-span rigid portal steel structure system.
Our steel structures include crane beams and rails (30x50mm),also including the crane bridge and the crane itself. Crane beams and rails will be along the full length of the building along four gridlines.the building which we designed fit the load and geometric criteria given in the attached crane specifications.The locations of the crane beams is compliant with the industrial door opening/closing mechanism.
Steel structure for walls is vertical as much as possible.
External wall cladding
The external wall cladding is water and wind proof.See applicable thermal,load and deflection criteria here below.
The external wall cladding is in category 2 (fire design),according to the Icelandic Building Regulation (chapter 9.3.5).External layer of the roof cladding is dark grey (similar to RAL-70240) and the interior layer is light grey (similar to RAL-7004).Surface treatment of wall cladding is according to environment categories:
Interior layer: C3 ;Exterior layer: C4.
Roof cladding
The roof cladding is water and wind proof.See applicable thermal,load and deflection criteria here below.
The roof cladding is in category 1 (fire design),according to the Icelandic Building Regulation (chapter 9.3.5)
The interior layer of the roof cladding is trapezoidal sheets.On top of the trapezoidal sheets is a vapor barrier membrance,then insulation and finally asphalt or PVC membrane.
Doors
The door is water and wind proof.See applicable thermal,load and deflection criteria here below.There are two types of door used:
1. there are total 14 industrial doors,size= 4.5x4.4m (wxh).All industrial doors is equipped with electronic opening/closing mechanism.The doors have three windows each door,size =60x30cm. The opening/closing mechanism of the door is complicant with the locations of the crane beam behind the door.
2. There are total of 7 passageway doors,size 1.1x2.25 (wxh).The doors are equipped with a door knob and a manual locking system.The doors have one window each door,size =60x40cm.
Windows and smoke vents
The windows and smoke vents is water and wind proof.See applicable thermal,load and deflection criteria here below.
1.there are total of 11 windows,size =1.2x1.2m.All windows are egress windows with an escape opening that slides sideways. Minimum clear escape opening is 60x90cm.
2.there are a total 180m2 of smoke vents distributed evenly on the roof.
Roof drain system
Rain gutters is placed along the roof eaves at the front and the back of the building,total length 180m. Downspouts is placed every 12m.
Thermal transmittance criteria
The buildings are designed to fulfill the following thermal transmittance criteria:

Load criteria
The building is designed according to Eurocode,Icelandic National Annexes and the Icelandic Building Regulation.We have sent to the owner the load to foundations from the steel structures for each load case.
1. Permanent dead load:to be designed by us
2. Free dead load:Free dead load on the roof from installations is assumed=0.5KN/m2.
3. Crane load:the crane is 20mt crane,the load in crane specifications are characteristic loads.
4. Wind load: Vb,0= 36m/s,Terrain category = II For z=8.0 →Qp=1.80 KN/m2
External pressure coefficients is according to Eurocode
Internal pressure coefficients is assumed = -0.30/+0.20.
5. Snow load: s=1.26 x u Kn/m2,shape coefficient (u) is according to Eurocode.
6. Earthquake load:Design ground acceleration= 0.1g.
Deflection criteria:
This steel building is classified as a C-building according to the Icelandic building Regulations.Maximum deflection for building in class C is as following:
