Detailed Description:

Mounting Instructions:The two hubs mesh loosely together, and the gaps between them are filled with blocks of elastomeric material, moulded into an asterisk-shaped element called “spider”. The curve expressing the spider’s elasticity must have a progressive trend (yielding at low torque values and rigid at higher torque values) so as to avoid tugs at starting as well as ensure a moderate torsional yielding by regular running.

Also the coupling life depends from the elastic properties of the spider’s material.

Material Selection:The choice of the appropriate materials largely depends on the different applications and working conditions. In the basic execution the spider is made of a plastic elastomer selected to meet medium purpose requirements, offering medium rigidity and excellent internal damping, resistant to ageing, fatigue, abrasion, hydrolysis as well as to most common chemicals, such as oils and ozone.
