SPF Bars (spruce and pine mainly)
Type: Other Timber | Place of Origin: Russian Federation | Brand Name: TimTimber |
Spruces and Pines are among the most commercially important of tree species, valued for their timber and wood pulp throughout the world. In temperate and tropical regions, they are fast-growing softwoods that will grow in relatively dense stands, their acidic decaying needles inhibiting the sprouting of competing hardwoods. Commercial spruces and pines are grown in plantations for timber that are dense, resinous and durable.
European Spruce Bars (Botanical name Pícea ábies).
Spruce lumber is white to yellow-white. Spruce wood is used for many purposes, ranging from general construction work and crates to highly specialised uses in wooden aircraft, and as a tonewood in many musical instruments.
European Pine Bars (Botanical name Pinus sylvestris).
The wood is pale brown to red-brown, and used for general construction work. Pine wood is also widely used in high-value carpentry items such as furniture, window frames, panelling, floors and roofing.
Spruce is free from the boughs of the barrel up 25 m and the total height of the tree up to 60 m, diameter of 0.4 to 1.2 m, a maximum of about 2 m. Wood is pale whitish or yellowish-white color with a silky luster, and the heartwood and sapwood are not different in color. Under the influence of light, it darkens and takes the yellow-brown color. Growth rings are clearly visible, and the color of light early wood smoothly into the dark later, the boundaries of growth rings are clearly expressed.
Pine is an evergreen coniferous tree growing up to 35 m in height and 1 m trunk diameter when mature, exceptionally to 45 m tall and 1.7 m trunk diameter. The core of pine clearly distinguishable from the color of the sapwood. Sapwood width from 2 to 10 cm has a yellowish or reddish white color, while the heartwood for fresh cut reddish yellow and eventually to dark reddish-brown or red-brown.
We offer spruce and pine lumber that is produced of trees are cut in northwestern regions of Russia.
Spruce wood is very soft and has an average density of 470 kg / m ³ at 12-15% humidity. With the increase in the width of tree rings (and the associated decrease in the proportion of late wood), the density decreases, the mechanical quality is also deteriorating - so wood with a width of tree rings from 4 to 6 mm only is fit for construction.
Pine has an average density - 520 kg / m ³ at 12-15% moisture content and is relatively heavy in relation to other conifers. Mechanical properties are very good, while at the same time, its spread is very large and depends on the growth conditions of the tree.
Spruce and pine are easy for sawing, planing, milling, jointing and through other techniques, as well as connection with screws, nails and gluing. These wood species are stained well.
