This product is an inactive material, clean product ,non toxic, completely by-product and environmentally friendly ,under the export code : 2618.0000.000 , made up of iron oxides and silicon dioxide at a content of about 35%-40% each the rest being oxides of calcium, magnesium and aluminum.

Additionally, it is a friable material with grains of dimensions 1,5mm and roughly similar with the excavated ones, from ores around the region.

Above characteristics make this material an ideal source for abrasive grit and abrasive blast cleaning manufacture as well as a proper raw material for cement and construction industry.

Grit material is a by-product produced during reductive smelting of laterites in electric furnaces reaches a temperature of 1300 – 1500C for the production of ferronickel. The material flows out of the furnaces and is led over a jet of sea water under pressure turning to fine granules through instantaneous cooling.

It once belonged to the category of SLAGS (residue-garbage), but once the Ministry

discovered its qualities in the construction of buildings for the Olympic Venues, for the

construction of the Attiki Odos and Egnatia highways, the runways for the new Eleftherios

Airport, its exportation for American Naval stations and the construction of the port in

Alexandria - Egypt, it then decided to remove this from the category of slags and demand its

sale with a significant profit, for the producing company.

This material at the international conference that was held in Turkey in 2008, was awarded as

the top by-product material, due to its composition of iron in it.

until the year 2022 for exporting this material to buyers all over the world.

Today production amounts to 5,000 metric tons daily, about 2,000,000 metric tons per year, through a soft production which has the possibility of improving its increase yearly at a significant degree.
