Tile glue is a blend of portland cement, sand, special polymer additives for the installation of tiles over a variety of surfaces, including properly prepared exterior grade plywood, requires no additional latex or fortifiers

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Shunan Multi-Purpose (SA814) is used as a bond coat for installation of high-lug absorptive tiles, semi-vitreous, vitreous tiles or marble tile on acceptable surfaces.

PRODUCT USE

Shunan Multi-Purpose is suitable for use as a bond coat for tiles over interior or exterior horizontal or vertical surfaces which are rigid and non-flexing. Available in white or gray.

FIELD OF APPLICATION

· Used for fixing low porosity tiles (water absorption less than 6%) such as porcelain tiles,natural stone, etc

· Used for fixing tiles both on inside and outside walls and floors

· For tiles fixed on external walls higher than 3.5m, the size of the tiles is suggested to be less than 30×30cm

· Used for fixing tiles on rigid substrate

· Stone fixed on wall higher than 3.5m suggested being with mechanical anchor together

· Used for fixing tiles in dry and damp area

Substrate requirement

The substrate should be hard, sound, dry, flat, clean and durable

Substrate preparation

- Substrate should be flat ,hard, level, dry, and clean with normal absorption

- Clean the surface until free of grease, dust or any stains

- Old paint or plaster should be removed

- Substrate been repaired should be preserved at least 48 hours

Mixing

Using a mechanical mixer, add 25kg Shunan multi purpose tile glue to 5.75 litres clean water while mixing. Mix well to a creamy, lump-free consistency. Let the mix stand for 3 - 5 minutes before stirring again. Use within 5-6 hours (20°C).

Processing

1. Apply the mix to the surface using a notched trowel for tiles, the mix can be applied in bed thicknesses between 5 - 7mm, coverage is approximately 5 -10kg/m2, actual coverages will be determined by site conditions, workmanship, etc)

2. Apply only as much adhesive as can be tiled in 10-15 minutes to prevent the adhesive from “skinning” before the tiles are applied

3. Bed tiles firmly using a rubber mallet. When tiling exterior walls ensure the tiles is in full contact with the adhesive. Occasionally, life a block to ensure that there are no air pockets. Never fix tiles using the ‘spot’ method.
