SA801 Thermal Rockwool Adhesive Mortar
General description
Adhesive mortar for fixing insulation materials (glass fibre or rock wool) to walls.
It is rainwater proof and permeable to water vapour, allowing the system to breath. Also a fire-proof system.
For adhesion of mineral wool, basalt wool and thermo-insulation boards. It can also be used to create a protection layer reinforced with glass-mesh and designed for exterior insulation of buildings.
single component based on cement adhesive,a grey powder adhesive for fixing rock wool for thermal insulation of buildings
Composition
Product based on high resistance cement, selected aggregates, additives and synthetic resins which ensure water proofing, transpiration, open time and bonding capacity.Cement based with good polymer additives and fractioned sand. It is designed for adhesion of thermo insulation boards made of mineral and basalt wool and also for other fibre thermo-insulation materials of thistype.

Base preparation
Basis surface must be cleaned from dust, mud, oils, fats. Friable, flimsy patches must be removed. Uneven surface, cracks, blowholes, cavities must be filled and levelled.
Substrates
- Conventional cement and brickwork based substrates.
- Substrates must be resistant, stable, sound and clean, free of dust, demolding agents, organic products, etc.
- In case of hot or windy weather conditions or when applying over absorbent substrates, it is advisable to wet the substrate and wait till the thin layer of water disappears.
Instructions for use
- SA801 is specially designed to be applied with mortar pumping machines. Set the optimum proportion of water/SA according to the chosen machine (section and hose length) and external weather conditions. Start with 1 to 4 ratio and modify gradually until you achieve the appropriate consistency.
- For manual application add water and mix by hand or mechanically until it has an even and workable consistency. Spread on the substrate.
- The recommended application thickness varies from 3 to 5 mm.
- When the mortar is still fresh, lay the insulation by applying normal pressure, making sure no gaps are left between panels.
- Proceed with the interior brickwork.
Cautions and recommendations
- Do not apply below 5ºC nor above 30ºC.
- Do not apply when there is a risk of frost, rain, strong wind or direct sunlight.
- Do not apply on gypsum or derivatives.
Mixing of mortar
Dry mix is poured into a mixing bucket with clean water in proportion of 1 kg of dry mix per 0,23 l of water, then thoroughly stirred manually or with the help of mixing drill, until homogeneous, elastic mixture. The mixture is left for 5 minutes and then stirred again. Prepared mixture should be used within 2 — 2,5 hours
