2. Product Description:

Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag(GGBS) is obtained by quenching molten ironslag (a by- product of iron and steel making) from a blast furnace in water or steam to produce a glassy, granular product that is then dried and ground into a fine powder.

3. Applications & Benefits For the product:

GGBS is used to make durable concrete structures in combination with ordinary portland cement and other pozzolanic materials. GGBS has been widely used in Europe,and increasingly in the United stateand and in Asia( particularly in Japan and Singapore) for its superiority in concrete durability,extending the lifespan of buildings from fifty years to a hundred years.

Two major uses of GGBS are in the production of quality-improved slag cement, namely portland blastfurnace cement( PBFC) and high-slag blast-furnace cement( HSBFC), with GGBS content raning typically from 30 to 70%;and in the production of ready-mixed or site-batched durable concrete.

Ⅰ. High-performance concrete additive, especially suitable for:

A. Preparation of the harbor and marine concrete structures with high resistance to corrosion by chloride ion.

B. Preparation of corrosion resistant concrete, improving durability of concrete structure in soleplate salt and alkali regions.

C. Preparation of concrete which provides effective prevention measures for the potential active alkali-aggregate reactions in concrete.

D. Preparation of low heat concrete which, effectively reducing the risk of temperature cracks in early period of the mass concrete structure.

E. Preparation of pumping concrete to effectively reduce the slump loss in the construction in summer, hence improving the workability of concrete.

F. Preparation of self compacting concrete to have effective control on bleeding and segregation of high fluidity concrete.

Ⅱ, Super-reactive cementitious additives, especially suitable for:

A. Production of medium content (30-50%) slag cement, improving the strength of all ages.
B. Production of low heat cement with high GGBS substitutions (50-70%), used for mass or port/marine concrete structures.
