Portland cement clinker
Place of Origin: China (Mainland) | Color: Grey | Main Raw Material: Aluminate | Type: Ordinary Silicate Cement |
Hardening Feature: Rapid Hardening | Heat of Hydration: Low-Heat |
Clinker, in its many forms and compositions, is the key to creating Portland Cement. In terms of basic composition, clinker is made up of approximately 80% limestone, 5% gypsum and the remaining 15% made up of clay and natural oxides.
The form of clinker depends on the composition of clay within the limestone used. With the addition of gypsum, natural oxides and other industrial by-products, the strength of clinker is altered to withstand physical pressures.
The use of industrial by-products and natural oxides makes the process of clinker formation highly environmentally sustainable. Through the recycling of industrial waste the initial process of limestone extraction is offset. In the long term, the decomposition of clinker provides no hazardous products and no toxic dangers. For export, it is supplied in lumps of rock size enabling for cheaper processing costs and the avoidance of dust.
