DESCRIPTION

FLOWGROUT 60 is a single pack, ready to use, ultra high strength, free flowing, shrinkage compensating grout. FLOWGROUT 60 will give a positive expansion during setting which leads to superior bonding with the surrounding material. FLOWGROUT 60 can be used as heavy duty grout for heavy reciprocating pumps, generators, compressors, pulverisers, steel rolling mill beds, cement plant, textile mills, paper plant machineries.

APPARATUS

Electrically operated mechanical mixer

SURFACE PREPARATION

All contaminated surfaces must be cleaned thoroughly.

All bolt pockets and under bases must be free from dust, laitance. If needed, substrate must be hacked to provide extra mechanical key.

The pockets and under bases must be saturated with water to allow for full absorption for atleast 24 hrs.

Just before application of grout, all water must be removed completely, leaving the surface only damp.

MIXING AND APPLICATION

FLOWGROUT 60 is supplied as ready to use grouts requiring addition of precise quantity of water at site.

For mixing of FLOWGROUT 60 with water, the water/powder ratio should be 0.15 for pourable consistency and 0.16 for flowable consistency i.e. to obtain flowable consistency, 4.0litre of water is required for 25kg bag of FLOWGROUT 60.

  • For mixing of FLOWGROUT 60, first of all the mixer drum should be cleaned with water. No hand mixing is permitted.

  • Add 80% of total water required for mixing in mixer machine and add slowly powder of

  • FLOWGROUT 60 and allow it to mix for 2 min.

  • Add balance 20% of water and mix them again for 3-5 min.

  • The quantity of grout required for grouting can be calculated as per following.

  • Suppose, grouting is done for pocket . the dimensions of the pocket are as follows.
    Width b = 0.05m
    Depth d = 0.05m
    Length l = 0.1m
    So, volume of pocket = b x d x l
    = 0.05 x 0.05 x 0.1
    = 2.5 x 10-4 m3
    As we know that 1cu.m = 1000lit
    So, 2.5 x 10-4 m3 = 0.25lit
12.5 lit yield is obtained by 25kg. FLOWGROUT 60
    so, to obtain 0.25lit yield (0.25 x 25) / 12.5 = 0.5kg FLOWGROUT 60 is required.
Add 10% extra due to wastage during application.
So, quantity of FLOWGROUT 60 = 0.55 kg.

  • For application of FLOWGROUT 60, clean the pockets by brushing or compressed air jet.

  • Remove stains of oil and grease using FM-DEGREASER, which is solvented degreaser which removes stains easily.

  • Position the base plate on shims or jacking screws or any other levelling device.

  • Grease the shims and make them accessible is they are to be removed. Drill air relief holes at high spots in plate to allow venting.

  • If base plate is large, divide it into sections.

  • Utilise the strengthening ribs of the head box.

  • Place end form opposite side of the head box 50mm from base plate for allowing air to be expelled.
