Why it can be acoustic and fire-retardant materials:

Melamine foam has a fully open hole 3D-grid structure inside.In the grid,the length to diameter ratio (L/D), is from 10 to 20,opening rate is as high as 99%. For this high opening rate,sound waves can effectively enter into the deep layers of foam,and then the vibration of the sound turns into the vibrations of the grid, which makes the sound waves completely consumption,and effectively eliminates the reflection wave.

At the same time, due to the three-dimensional grid structure with full opening, melamine form has quite low density, only about 8 kg/M3,which allows it to be convenient as decorative sound-absorbing material.
