lightweight Leca concrete

Structural or Non-structural lightweight concrete can be defined as a closed or open structure concrete which is replaced whole or partial of ordinary aggregate by LECA aggregate.

In addition to reduce the imposed weight, lightweight concrete has substantially better fire-resistance than normal concrete, low heat transmission, remarkable moisture resistance and more durability. Those advantages will be in hand when use Leca in any products, precast elements, panel, … so Leca concrete itself or related product have these improvement.

Structural light weight concrete (SLWC) can opened up wide range of application and possibility and to have taller building, long span roof and bridge .. which can bring real evolution in structure and constructions.

When dead load is reduced, seismic force, reinforcement and size of members will be reduced and many other points like Live load capacity for bridge, marine and building will be increased.

It is highly durable to freezing, thawing and chloride due to low permeability of Leca.

Leca has long term water absorption and this internal water source can improve concrete strength and avoid shrinkage by internal curing.
