On August 25th 2005, Hurricane Katrina (Level-5) landed on the southern part of Florida, U.S. at the speed of over 233km/h. Many trees were uprooted and millions of houses were destroyed. However, ten buildings were still standing there among the ruins with only the doors and windows destroyed. After spot field investigation, the experts from the United States Construction Association knew that these buildings were made of a kind of lightsteel structure made in our factory.
Why could these buildings undertake such severe hurricane?
This system is that during the construction, no brick is used.The lightsteel structure is fixed onto the foundation, then the panels are assembled and set onto the structure one by one like building blocks. The steel pillars and girders are covered with the ASA panels, the maintenance frames and wieght bearing structure become an integrated system, which can increase the ability of hurricane resistance and anti-seismic.
China Academy of Archetecture made tests with this kind of building system. The tests are according to international standard, over 60 kinds of seismic waveform are used. Wenchuan Earthquake seismmic waveform is also used for testing. After more than 60 tests were done,the results were very satisfying.
