Chinese Cedar, softwood.Latin name is Cryptomeria Fortunei, warm light grain, reddish hues, highly insect and fungal decay resistant.
Cedar is rated the highest on the stability range of all woods, so it is ideal for sauna and shower rooms. In a shower or tub environment we recommend sealing the cedar with several coats of verathane or spar varnish. This provides a beautiful finish, improves overall hygiene, keeps the wood for getting water stained and prevents soap scum build up.
