Treating timber provides long-term resistance to organisms such asmites and termites that cause deterioration. It can prolong the timber’s life-span by five to tentimes. Timber that is left untreated or exposed to moisture or soil for sustained length of timewill become weakened by various types of fungi, bacteria or insects.

Species suitable for CCA: US southern pine, monglica, Scott pine, German red pine, radiata pine etc. Southern pine is the best for CCA because of its excellence for penetration, which allows more preservative inside.
