DESCRIPTION

Bhavya Quick Seal is ready to use , non shrink , free flow polymer modified grey cement based seal , specially formulated for water proofs and protects concrete in depth.

AREA OF APPLICATIONS

• Can be applied to all structurally sound concrete – new or old.
• Can be applied to either the pressure or non-pressure concrete face ( with or against water pressure )
• Basement retaining walls , concrete slabs ( floor , roof , balcony etc. ) , construction joints , water retaining structures , swimming pools , sewage treatment plants , channels , bridges etc.

FEATURES & BENEFITS

When BHAVYA QUICK SEAL is applied to a concrete surface the active chemicals combine with the free lime and moisture present in the capillary tract, to form insoluble crystalline complexes. These crystals block the capillaries and minor shrinkage cracks in the concrete to prevent any further water ingress (even under pressure). However, the Quick Seal layer will still allow the passage of water vapour through the structure (i.e. the concrete will still be able to „breathe“). In addition to waterproofing the structure,

QUICK SEAL protects concrete against sea water, waste water, aggressive ground water and certain chemical solutions. QUICK SEAL is approved for use in contact with potable water, and is therefore suitable for the treatment of water storage tanks, reservoirs, water towers, etc.

INSTRUCTION OF USE

1. 1. Remove all loose particles, dust,debris,paint,oil etc. from the surface. Use air blower/vacuum cleaner to blow out all finer particles. Remove oil by vacuum sucking,matting, or by burning by torch depending upon the depth of penetration of oil. After removal and thorough surface cleaning, wash with potable water and clean the surface.
2. 2. The concrete surface must be damp but not wet.
3. 3. QUICK SEAL should be mixed with clean water to a consistency of thick oil pant , Approx. mixing ratio is 0.8 part of water to 2 parts of powder by volume.
4. 4. Mix only as much material as can be used within 20 minutes and stir mixture frequently.
5. 5. If the mixture starts to set do not add more water , simple restir to restore workability.

APPLICATION

• Slurry consistency.

Apply QUICK SEAL in one or two coats according to specification by masonry brush or appropriate power spray equipment. When two coats are specified apply the second

coat whilst the first coat is still „green“.

Dry powder consistency (for horizontal surfaces only).

Thespecified amount of QUICK SEAL is distributed in powder form through a sieve and trowelled into the freshly placed concrete once this has reached initial set.

Post treatment.

The treated areas should be kept damp for a period of five days and must be protected against direct sun, wind and frost, by covering with polythene sheeting,

damp hessian or similar.

Note: Do not apply QUICK SEAL at temperatures below + 5 °C.

QUICK SEAL can not be used as an additive to concrete or plasters.

COVERAGE

Concrete surfaces to be backfilled.

Onecoat of QUICK SEAL at 0.75 kg/m2followed by one coat of QUICK GROUT at 1.00 kg/m2. Brush or spray applied.

Water retaining structures, internal concrete wall surfaces.

Two coats of QUICK SEAL each at 0.75 kg/m2. Brush or spray applied.

Concrete slabs.

QUICK SEAL at 1.00 kg/m2 applied in one slurry coat to hardened concrete or dry sprinkled and trowel applied to fresh concrete when this has reached initialset.

Construction joints.

QUICK SEAL at 1.5 kg/m2 applied in slurry or dry powder consistency immediately prior to placing the next lift/bay of concrete.

Blinding concrete.

QUICK SEAL at 1.2 kg/m2 applied in slurry or dry powder consistency immediately prior to placing the overlying concrete slab.
